Digital phantoms are valuable tools for the development and optimization of imaging and therapy techniques used in radiation therapy. XCAT is a commonly used digital phantom that simulates patient CT and MRI images with cardiac and respiratory motions. This talk introduces our recent development to simulate realistic image textures and breathing motions in the thoracic and abdominal regions of the XCAT phantoms using the latest AI models, such as GAN and diffusion models. In the end, an outlook on digital tools for motion management and treatment optimization in both photon and proton therapy is provided.
