Abstract: While Computed Tomography has the potential to provide quantitative information about the structural and functional attributes of COPD, quantitative CT imaging biomarkers are shown to be highly influenced by patient attributes, scanners, and their settings. In this forum, we will overview the latest findings in the field and discuss the potentials and challenges in CT quantifications. We will then discuss how some of these challenges can be uniquely addressed through conducting imaging trials in silico, i.e., virtual imaging trials.
