Virtual Clinical Trials of Simultaneous Digital Breast Tomosynthesis and Mechanical Imaging
Date: December 17th, 2021
Speakers: Predrag Bakic (University of Pennsylvania)
Virtual Clinical Trials (VCTs) have been used for the evaluation and optimization of medical imaging systems and image analysis methods, design of clinical trials and observer studies. Recently, we have used VCTs to evaluate simultaneous digital breast tomosynthesis and mechanical imaging (DBTMI). DBTMI is a novel multimodality imaging method with potential to improve sensitivity and specificity of breast cancer screening. This presentation discusses the model calibration and its use in the characterization of the prototype DBTMI system.
